World Cup Winner Gottwald Reports From Oslo

There is still one competition to go, but Felix Gottwald claimed the Nordic Combined World Cup overall title already on Friday. He won the individual competition in Oslo, while his only rival Ronny Ackermann got 32th.

Tomorrow is still a competition, and I try to do my best there, because I want to win also the Sprint Cup. So no celebration today, Gottwald laughed.

He jumped 114 and 114,5 meters in very difficult conditions. Snowing and strong wind made it too difficult for many athletes. The wind was really strong during the in-run, which made it difficult to jump. After take-off there was no wind, Gottwald described the conditions.
He started for cross country at 2nd, one second behind the leader Marco Baacke.

I knew I was able to win and I wanted to show that I can win also in Holmenkollen. It was good to ski together with Baacke the first kilometers. After 7 km (passed Baacke) I just tried to do my own race.
Also my skis were good today, the happy Austrian told.

He has now 1645 points and 5 victories in this season before the final race on Saturday.
