Posted 3. March 2001 by Editor Felix Gottwald made a good job in FIS Nordic Combined World Cup jumping in Sapporo on Saturday. Gottwald got 125 and 124 meters in K120-hill, and goes for cross country at 6th, 1.12 behind Jaakko Tallus.I am very satisfied with my jumps. It was not easy, but the conditions were almost equal for everybody. Gottwald's worst rival in the overall World Cup, Ronny Ackermann failed a bit and got 16th, 3.22 behind Tallus. Of course it is good for me, but I try not to think about the overall World Cup. I just try to concentrate on my own jumps and my own skiing, and not to think about anything else. The Austrian assumes Sunday's 15 km cross country race will be interesting. Bjarte (Engen Vik, 3rd), Marco (Baacke, 4th), Samppa (Lajunen, 5th), me and Kristian (Hammer, 8th) are all in 58 seconds. I think we will have a good competition and good fight for the podium places. My goal is to make a good race, start carefully and then go up. We had very good skis in Nayoro and I hope our waxing crew will have success here also. The conditions are very challenging for them, because the conditions are not the same everywhere in the course, Gottwald explains. Felix
