Anja Paerson took the 2005 World Cup ahead of Janica Kostelic and
Renate Goetschl: a fabulous triple success for Salomon!
This last race of the winter was full of suspense and an incredible
outcome! Anja Paerson and Janica Kostelic had to wait until the last
skier crossed the finish line to know who won the 2005 World Cup
Overall Ranking! With only 3 little points ahead, Anja Paerson came out
victorious in this fantastic duel with Janica that lasted all season.
The Swede took her second consecutive crystal globe equaling her
Croatian rival and friend who won in 2001 and 2003.
Another great duel was also fought for the third place spot in the
Overall Ranking which Renate Goetschl, with her excellent 5th in Giant,
took ahead of her compatriot Dorfmeister. Having already won 6 crystal
globes, Renate also has climbed 5 podiums and has taken one victory in
the Overall Ranking since 1999!
Congratulations to our three stars who have offered Salomon, after
their 5 gold medals in Bormio, a fabulous triple success in the 2005
World Cup Overall Ranking!
