Beim zweiten Wettbewerb im finnischen Lahti gab es einen deutschen Doppelerfolg. Bj?rn
Kircheisen(118m, 121m) siegte vor Ronny Ackermann (122m, 122m; +1.2s) und dem Finnen
Hannu Manninen (112,5m, 113m; + 23,4s). F?r Kircheisen war es der vierte Sieg im Weltcup.
Seine ersten drei feierte er als Triple im norwegischen Trondheim im Dezember 2002.
Anssi Koivuranta (130,5m, 125m), der Sieger des heutigen Springens, wurde am Ende 14.
(+2:20,2s).
Bei blauem Himmel, Sonnenschein aber auch bei etwas wechselndem Wind und
Temperaturen um die -6 Grad konnte der gesamte Wettkampf durchgef?hrt werden.
Durch das sch?ne Wetter angelockt, kamen bereits 7000 Zuschauer zum Springen, beim Lauf
waren es dann 15.000.
Gruber und Bal starteten beim heutigen Wettbewerb gar nicht, Matveev (RUS) und Pikkor
(EST) nicht beim Lauf.
Der n?chste Wettbewerb findet am kommenden Samstag in Oslo statt.

Statement Bj?rn Kircheisen:
Ich freue mich zun?chst einmal wahnsinnig, dass ich hier heute meinen vierten Weltcupsieg
feiern konnte. Es war wirklich ein sehr hartes Rennen f?r mich heute. Zun?chst musste ich
30s auf Ronny aufholen, was schon ganz sch?n schwer war. Die letzte Runde war dann
wirklich sehr hart und ich war wirklich am Limit, aber ich konnte meinen Vorsprung ins Ziel
retten und das ist das wichtigste. Die Nordische Kombination ist eine Einzelsportart und jeder
muss f?r sich k?mpfen. Am Ende steht nur die eigene Platzierung.
Statement Ronny Ackermann:
Ich hatte heute zwei sehr gute Spr?nge und bin deshalb zun?chst einmal mit dem Springen
zufrieden. Mein Lauf hat sich sehr gut angef?hlt und heute hatte ich auch einen schnellen
Start. Allerdings waren meine Ski am Ende nicht mehr so gut. Ich war eigentlich die ganze
Zeit vorne und musste durch die F?hrungsarbeit viel Kraft lassen, sodass ich am letzten Berg
keine Kraft mehr hatte, Bj?rn richtig zu folgen. Insgesamt bin ich aber mit dem Ergebnis
heute zufrieden.
Statement Hannu Manninen:
Es war heute ein sehr schweres aber auch ein sehr faszinierendes Rennen. Ich hatte heute zwei
nicht so gute Spr?nge weswegen ich keinen so guten Ausgangspunkt f?r das Rennen hatte.
Aber sofort ab der ersten Runde f?hlte sich das Laufen sehr gut an. Ich habe immer versucht
mein Tempo gleich zu halten. Ich hatte von meinen Trainern die Information, dass die drei
vorne sich nicht einig waren, wer vorne weg gehen sollte. Als ich dann zu Beginn der letzten
Runde gesehen habe, dass Petter leicht zur?ck war, wusste ich, dass ich ihn noch einholen
kann.

ENGLISH:

The second World Cup in Lahti had a double victory for the Germans. Bj?rn Kircheisen won
in front of his team mate Ronny Ackermann and the Fin Hannu Manninen. For Kircheisen, it
was the fourth victory in the World Cup. His last one was in December 2002 in Trondheim
(NOR) as a triple.
Anssi Koivuranta who was leading after the jumping, got 14th in the end.
The whole competition could be held in blue sky, sunshine and some slight changing wind as
well as in temperatures around -6 degrees.
Perhaps due to the nice weather, already 7000 people were watching the jumping competition.
At the Cross Country there were about 15.000 spectators.
Gruber and Bal didn`t start in todays competition, Matveev (RUS) and Pikkor (EST) didn`t
race.
The next competition will be next Saturday in Oslo.

Bj?rn Kircheisen:
First, I am just so happy that I have won today. It was my fourth victory. The race was very
hard. I had to race in 30s to come to Ronny, which was already quite tough. At the last round I
was on the limit, but I could bring my advantage into the finish. Nordic Combined is an
individual sport and everybody has to fight for himself. At the end, only the result counts.
Statement Ronny Ackermann:
I had two good jumps today and therefore I am satisfied with the jumping. My race felt also
very good and I also had a fast start today in comparison to yesterday. But I had to race in
front of the group most of time which coasted quite a lot of energy of which I lacked at the
last uphill where I could not follow Bj?rn anymore. But altogether, I am satisfied with the
result today.

Statement Hannu Manninen:
Es was a very hard but also an amazing race for me today. The whole race felt very good,
right from the start. I didn`t have very god jumps today, so I didn`t have a good position for
the race. I just tried to keep my speed on a good level. I heard from the coaches that the three
in front of me were not sure who should lead. At the beginning of the last lap I saw that Petter
was a bit behind the others. From that point on, I knew I could catch him.
