After a slow start to the season, Frode Andresen, third in the overall world cup last season, keeps improving steadily on both shooting and skiing. He placed 3rd in the men’s biathlon sprint last weekend with 2 penalty loops, recording the fastest cross-country time of the day.
He shot 6 misses on the pursuit on Sunday yet managed 5th. Poiree also missed 6, he fell from 1st to 12th.
If Frode, whose shooting performance has been around 65 percent vs. near 90 percent for Poiree, can continue his shooting improvement, he may be a medal candidate in the Olympics as tougher courses and high altitude will benefit Andresen who took the silver on the sprint in 1998.
Anterselva this week will be the last competitions ahead of the Olympics.
