Frode Andresen, world champion in sprint biathlon from Holmen kollen last year has been honing his versatility the last months. After placing 3rd in the Norwegian 50k last year, he won "Skarverennet", the season ender at Geilo in suburb style. This summer he has been doing quite a bit of mountain biking, has won some races and been right at the top in others.
As for training, Andresen and his girlfriend Gunn Margit Andreassen follow a versatile schedule. Long distance training is often done together with shooing every 10 minutes or so. Both focus on long (3 min.) uphill intervals to build strength and a solid base. As for shooting they may have pure shooting sessions as well as "dry shooting" inside at night. Andresen also occasionally may rollerski without poles.
Andresen, a very fast skier, says he may ski the 30k skating in the Norwegian championships this winter, and may try out to qualify for 50k skating in Lahti. Andresen believes he may place top 10 there. Norway does have a shortage of good skaters, and both Andresen and Bj
